A Girls’ Day Out: Looking Forward to Prom and Other Fun Events
In December, the ladies of The Blackman Voice went to Urban Image Salon on the square and received makeovers that are a great inspiration for prom.
Gini Faulk, a former Voice staff member and Estee Lauder consultant, applied the makeup.
Liz Layne, stylist at Urban Image, created “not so everyday” hairstyles.
Each girl received a unique look that could fit a variety of styles. The hair ranged from loose curls to braided updos, and the makeup from simple and natural to smoky and edgy.
A favorite was Megan Grimes’ hair, which had a half-up layered braid at the back of her head and loose curls. The princess-inspired look would pair well with delicate fabrics.
If you are getting your hair and makeup done for prom, book your appointment two to three months in advance.
Be sure to speak up about what style or look you prefer, and if you aren’t sure, bring a picture of your dress for inspiration. Don’t be afraid to tell your stylist if you want something different. He/she is there to help you look your best!
