On Sept. 25, students, staff, supportive parents, and community members attended the Blaze Band fall concert. The event was organized by the band directors, Ms. Monson and Mr. Wright, and aimed to perform lively, entrancing songs from new and old generations of composers.
The auditorium was transformed into a world full of jazz, delight, and wonder. Songs performed at the concert included “Tripwire” by JadRod Hall, “Infinity” by Katahj Copley, “Symphony No. 9, From the New World” by Dvořák, arranged by Daehn, and many other songs.
“My favorite song from the concert was ‘ Infinity,'” said sophomore Randall Folley. He continued, “Jazz band was great; you can’t go wrong with jazz.”
Behind the scenes, band students prepared relentlessly and passionately for the performance.
When asked how she prepared for the concert, senior Kara Perkins stated, “We practice every day at school; I practiced at home and listened to the music repeatedly.”
Another band student, sophomore Camila Contreres, said, “My favorite part was playing with everyone in the concert and ending with accomplishment.”
The band concert ended with thunderous applause from the audience and special thanks from the band directors. The next concert, the PRISM concert, takes place on Dec. 4.
