As it draws near to the end of senior year, many students are seeking the feeling of nostalgia. This summer there are several activities that seniors can do to relive their childhood. These can include going to theme parks, watching childhood shows and revisiting old campuses.
Dollywood Themepark, produced by the queen Dolly Parton herself, is in Gatlinburg TN near the Smokey Mountains. It is just outside of Pigeon Forge. The park is butterfly themed and contains several attractions including roller coasters, delicious restaurants and even a large cage of bald eagles.
Go USA here in Murfreesboro is also a much cheaper alternative to Dollywood, but it contains a lot less attractions. Some parts of the park include a go-cart racecourse, batting cages, mini golf and some small carnival like games.
If you’re primarily interested in carnival games, the fair would be the perfect place to attend. It is usually located in Williamson County, which is roughly an hour away from Murfreesboro,
If a theme park Is not what you are looking for, the Nashville Zoo, Atlanta Aquarium and Chattanooga Aquarium are some very fun attractions. You can see animals that you would not see anywhere else, which reminds us of being young and curious of the world.
For those who are a bit of a homebody, Disney+ contains a lot of our childhood favorites that you can watch from the comfort of your couch. These include “Princess and the Frog,” “Hercules,” the “Cars” series, “The Parent Trap” and “Lemonade Mouth.”
Theme parks, comfort movies, and other nostalgic activities are a great way to relive childhood activities before entering the next stage of life, that is college.
