Last week, the girls took on Riverdale in a tough matchup. Ultimately they lost. But it didn’t take long for them to rebound. This past week, the Lady Blaze took down division rival Oakland by a nail-biting one point.

The Lady Blaze basketball team took on Stewarts Creek two weeks ago. They fought hard, but the game ended with Blackman taking a loss by a heartbreaking four points.

“We played very hard and did a great job on defense,” stated Jessica Jackson, head coach. “The one thing about this team is that it takes everyone contributing to be successful on both the defensive and offensive end.”

Jackson plans on working the team hard in order to be properly prepared for the district tournament. They hope to advance into region play once again.

As of now, the team record is 3-12.
