Miss BHS 2016: The Results

Miss BHS and the runner- ups pose for family and yearbook pictures after being crowned.

Drum roll, please . . . the winner of Miss BHS 2016 is senior Brithany Gavidia! The first runner up is Rayven Hill, second runner-up is Savannah Phillips, and third runner-up is Denice Paredes, all seniors.

The night consisted of three rounds and a question/answer portion. The first event consisted of the ladies dancing in their black cocktail dresses. Next was their outfit of choice, which gave the girls an opportunity to express their individual styles. The last look was the evening gown. For the question and answer section, each girl randomly chose an envelope with a question.

Between the different looks, the Blackman dance team performed various dance numbers. The pageant was  hosted by prior Miss BHS Ty Montgomery and Ryan Pierce, seniors, while being judged by the Alice Hawkins, Lindsey Pflueger, and Yolanda Ruffin. The judges deliberated on the choice during the thirty minute intermission.

“The moment I won Miss BHS 2016, I felt honored to have been chosen. I was grateful to God, and thankful for my family’s support, as they were vital in this journey. Most of all I am thankful for my mom, because if it wasn’t for her support, I would not have been able to win. This was an experience I will never forget. I am so happy I experienced it with my best friends who also placed in the top 4,” said Gavidia, senior.

The night was successful with a good sized crowd out to support their girls.
