TN Ready Testing: Will It BE Ready?

Why_TNReady
TNReady testing appeared to have not been ready when the servers crashed all over the state on the first day of real testing. The testing has been moved to paper because the server crashed statewide.

Unfortunately, the paper testing is also experiencing delays. Dickson County has delayed testing once again because they did not receive their paper tests in time to administer them on the scheduled dates.

At Blackman High School, paper testing will take place in March 14-18.

Day 1:  ALG1 & ENG3

Day 2:  ALG2 & ENG1

Day 3:  ENG2 & US History

Day 4:  Geometry and Make-ups

Day 5:  Completion of all make-up

The Tennessee Department of Education reported that the crash was the result of the number of students trying to log on at once. In spite of “Break MIST” (the testing platform) days in the fall, the servers were not prepared for the amount of traffic.

“Well, the bad part of it is we spent practicing for the computers, and it’s all for naught. I think it’s easier for students to take it on paper, but it is a lot more time-consuming,” said John Strickland, assistant principal.

The questions will be the same style, as far as the RCS and state testing officials have been told. The only major difference will be the fact using paper and pencil instead of a mouse and keyboard.

Overall, this means that you will really just be taking the tests at a different time and on a different platform.
