Taco Bell released a new limited time Baja Blast pie on November 6th. It is a worldwide release and is only available in stores as a whole pie. It is a key lime style pie inspired by the Mountain Dew Baja Blast soda.
The idea of the pie was developed after it was teased at Live Mas LIVE 2024. The fans and community kept the idea alive through memes and discussions which made Taco Bell make it happen. The pie features a graham cracker crust topped with whipped cream. The pie was released to try and reach a younger audience and have some nostalgic themes. Some people enjoyed it while others, not so much.
“I would give it a 4.6 out of 10. It tasted like a key lime pie, but it was really low quality. It was frozen, we had to wait forever, and they didn’t even cut it for us,” said senior Alex Ellis.
“The pie was frozen and tasted like it was going to give me some sort of unknown illness,” stated senior David McCrary.
Even when we {the writers} tried it, the pie was cold and definitely not worth the money or the hype. When given the pie, it was frozen and not cut. They also did not provide anything to cut the pie with. So, we had to go to Publix and get a cake cutter to cut it.
Kaiden said “It was a 0 out of 10. I don’t recommend it, and it was not very good.”
While Shiya got sick right after eating the pie, she also rates it a 0 out of 10.
The Taco Bell Baja Blast Pie successfully achieved its goal of generating a viral discussion by a beloved Mountain Dew flavor. By these opinions, we can infer that many people did not enjoy it; meanwhile, people online can’t stop talking about how good it is.
The pie is $19.99 and is available until the supplies given to stores are out of stock.
