On Sept. 19, 2025, Blackman High School hosted its annual Variety Show during the afternoon Homecoming festivities. Known to be one of the biggest events of the school year, students, staff, and many families who attended were buzzing with excitement. Every year, the Variety Show seats a full house, and it is always the first Homecoming event to sell out of tickets.
The Variety Show features talented students, with many singing crowd favorites and others performing comedic skits. A certain sensation among the guests was the songs that many of the performers sang, which were by the famous artist and songwriter, Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir, including the crowd-pleasing hit “The Lamp.”
Each song was followed by amusing skits that featured the popular doll Labubu and many other trending topics. The crowd found the performances entertaining and funny. Junior Soha Patel said, “The show was pretty good, and I really enjoyed seeing so many talented students perform.”
Senior Maren Harper, who performed in the first and last dance of the show, shared her thoughts on how she felt during the performance. “The Variety Show is always a blast with the skits and music! I can’t stop my smile while performing,” she said.
The 2025 Blaze-Bash Variety Show was a breath of fresh air for students and staff alike. It brought laughter and joy to the audience and was an enjoyable experience overall.
