The Blackman Blaze traveled to Nolensville High School to take on the Knights in week 4 with the goal of continuing their winning season. The Blaze cruised through the game and took down the Knights 42-7 and remain undefeated going into homecoming week.
The Blaze started hot as on their first drive sophomore Micah Nance ran it into the end zone to put the Blaze on top 7-0.
Then on the first play of the second quarter senior Jaden Lark got an interception that led to senior Jabari Kemp running into the end zone to go up 14-0. Then on the next drive Lark intercepted another pass, and he returned it to the end zone to put the Blaze up 21-0.
“I am capable of playing at a high level of football, and I have been overlooked for way too long,” said Lark.
The next drive it looked like Nolensville had momentum, but the Blaze defense was able to force a field goal that was blocked by senior Emory Harris and picked up by Lark. He returned it 80 yards to put the Blaze up 28-0.
Just before the half, junior Trey Thornton got an interception that led to junior Brylan Odour catching a touchdown pass to go up 35-0 going into halftime.
Coming out of halftime the Blaze went up 42-0. They let off the brakes and started to run the clock out and won the game 42-7 after Nolensville scored a garbage time touchdown.
“We’re more of a team this year,” said senior Kennedy Jackson.” We play as 1 and not 11.” Blackman’s homecoming game is next Friday at home against La Vergne. Make sure to come out and support the Blaze as they try to stay undefeated.
