‘’Despicable Me 3” was a big hit in 2017 with all the comedy and action. After seven years Universal Pictures and Illumination has finally released the new ‘’Despicable Me 4”. Directed by Chris Renaud, and it is written by Mike White and Ken Daurio.
Gru is back on set, complete with old characters such as Lucy and the minions, as well as new characters like Maxime and Poppy Prescott. ‘’Despicable Me 4” is an animated, family-comedy that takes us back to Gru’s lifestyle from when he was in high school with his rival Maxime, who has a grudge against Gru.
Starring Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Will Ferrell and Sofia Vergara. Gru and Lucy became parents to a newborn, Gru Jr. They show us how their family has grown and how Gru is handling this anti-villain and secret agent job with his family.
Senior Abigail Morales said, “It was funny I did not watch the trailers, so everything was unexpected and surprising.’’
Lots of people went to go watch ‘’Despicable Me 4” at the movie theaters and had a wonderful time laughing with their families.
Maxime reveals himself as a cockroach and escapes the Anti- Villain League (AVL) prison. He wants to destroy Gru and his family because Gru took Maxime’s talent show act back in high school. Maxime escapes prison with the help of his girlfriend Valentina, where he reveals his invention that turns people into human-roach hybrids, which he plans to specifically use on Gru’s infant son Gru Jr,
Gru and Lucy move to a different house and a new neighborhood, even changing their family identities. Gru becomes a solar panel salesman, while Lucy is given a hairdresser career. The children also changed their names.
Maxime spots Gru Jr. outside the house walking and snatches Gru Jr. and takes him. Gru decides to go save his baby boy and that’s when Poppy joins. Poppy is the teenage daughter of Gru’s new neighbors. She wants to be a villain just like Gru was, but Poppy goes with Gru and goes on this adventure trying to save Gru Jr.
Senior Maria Fernanda Aguilar said, “I liked the movie. I just would not watch it again because it is the kind of movie to just watch that one time and that is it.’’
Overall, Gru takes down Maxime and Valentina and takes them to jail. He goes back to his family and thanks Poppy for helping him with their assignment. Gru went to visit Maxime in the AVL prison to settle their differences. To show their reconciliation they performed a song together in front of the prisoners, which include some of Gru’s past Villian friends.
‘’Despicable Me 4” is a PG rated movie. It’s an hour and thirty-four minutes long. It has lots of comedy and it’s adventurous. Overall ‘’Despicable Me 4” has a three out of five stars rating.
