The Blackman Voice’s January Athlete of the Month is senior Tessa Ball. Tessa has been a member of the Blackman wrestling team since her sophomore year of high school. This is the fifth year we have had girls wrestling at Blackman, and the team has grown strong and fast according to Ball. Although this season she has faced some challenges, Ball’s goal is to finally make it to state. Her favorite thing about her team is how supportive and “Team-ie” they are. One fun fact about Ball is that she will be attending Motlow State Community College. The girls wrestling team won second place in their Regionals competitions.
