Pressure produces precious gems: Black History Month at Blackman
Throughout February, Blackman has celebrated Black History Month with various artworks, club initiatives, and video projects. Below are some of the ways in which students have contributed to honor this historical month. The school’s main theme has been pressure and its ability to produce precious.
Various clubs have created posters and classroom door decorations with quotes and facts about Black leaders in their respective fields.
Tiffany Anderson, art teacher, assigned her classes to paint gemstones which represented various Black artists.
Josh Curada, senior, created the Blackman High School Black History Month word art, which was displayed around the lobby throughout the month.
The Audio/Video Production classes have set up a livestream for the Black History Month Celebration titled Pressure Produces Precious. This event went live on Monday, February 28, at 1 p.m.
