Recently, The Blackman Voice Staff caught up with our Athletes of The Month for January of 2022. Congratulations to Dan’Angela Wilson and Isaiah Divens.  

Dan’Angela Wilson, Junior, Basketball 

How many years have you been playing basketball? 

Wilson: I have been playing basketball for 8 years. 

Do you plan to continue playing basketball after high school? 

Wilson: Yes, I do plan on continuing to play basketball after high school. 

What is your favorite thing about playing basketball? 

Wilson: My favorite part about playing basketball is the competition because you never know what somebody’s going to throw at you. 

Do you have any advice for other athletes? 

Wilson: My advice to other athletes is if you want it bad enough you can go get it the only thing in your way is you. 

What is a fun fact about you? 

Wilson: I want to get into marketing and business.  

Isaiah Divens, Junior, Basketball 

How many years have you been playing basketball? 

Divens: I’ve been playing basketball since I was 4 years old.  

Do you plan to continue playing basketball after high school? 

Divens: Yes, my goal is to play Division I. 

What is your favorite thing about playing basketball? 

Divens: I can go and be myself and let all my emotions out and showcase my talent. 

Do you have any advice for other athletes? 

Divens: If you’re passionate about the game then give it your all because you’ll get out of it what you put into it. 

What is a fun fact about you? 

Divens: I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where my dad played in the NFL for the Ravens.
