Recently, The Blackman Voice Staff caught up with our Athletes of The Month for March of 2021. Congratulations to Lucas Smith and Sarah Kinderdine! 

Sarah Kinderdine, Junior, Softball 

How many years have you been playing softball?   

Kinderdine: I’ve been playing softball for 12 years. 

Do you plan to continue playing softball after high school?  

Kinderdine: Yes. 

What is your favorite thing about playing softball?   

Kinderdine: The bond I get to create with my teammates that goes beyond the field. 

What is some advice or inspiration you could give to other athletes?  

Kinderdine: Play each game like it’s your last and embrace every moment playing the sport you love. 

What is a random fact about you? 

Kinderdine: I have a little sister that plays softball for the middle school.

How many years have you been playing baseball? 

Smith: I have been playing baseball for 11 years. 

Do you plan to continue playing baseball after high school? 

Smith: I do plan on playing in college. 

What is your favorite thing about playing baseball? 

Smith: I love the feeling of getting the job done for the team. I really enjoy the team concept and making memories with my teammates. 

What is some advice or inspiration you could give to other athletes?  

Smith: Work every day. Even if it is only 15 minutes, try to find a way to get better at what you love to play.  

What is a random fact about you?  

Smith: Failure is what makes me want to work harder to be the best.
