Sarah Sanes: BHS Lady Bowler Goes International

Sarah Sanes wears one of the medals she won from the international event.

Sarah Sanes, Blackman sophomore bowler, has had a rewarding season so far.

Not only is she excelling at the high school level, but at the international level as well.

“We had the opportunity to see Sarah grow as a person and an athlete in the Dominican Republic,” mentioned Michele Giacobbi, Blackman bowling coach.

Sanes traveled to the Dominican Republic, where she was given the chance to bowl for team Puerto Rico. Sanes won a total of five medals.

“One of the most memorable moments was when I was called up to receive my medal, and I stood on the platform holding up the Puerto Rican flag,” stated Sanes.

Competing back at Blackman, Sanes will bowl tonight in the district finals alongside the rest of the Blackman bowling team.
