National Social Studies Honor Society Comes to BHS

 

 

Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is the only organization that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies

All students are encouraged to join the club. Only juniors and seniors will be initiated. hey will be the only grade levels to have met the appropriate qualifications which will be later explained.

Blackman High School is one of eleven schools in Tennessee to be accepted to re-introduce the program. This organization provides national recognition and the opportunity for the exploration in the Social Studies in which Blackman hopes to encourage an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the Social Studies through the Rho Kappa Honor Society.

To qualify for membership, you must be a student at Blackman high school for at least one semester prior. You must have completed four semesters (two years) of courses in the field of Social Studies. The minimum unweighted grade point average is a 3.0 GPA.

You must be approved by a past social studies teacher and provide evidence of community service, either past service or plans scheduled for the future.
