Blackman High School’s 2016 Homecoming
Taking the themes from major Pixar and Disney movies, Blackman High School’s students celebrated their school spirit with creativity and humor.
Monday was Lilo and Stitch day, which let students dress in their best Hawaiian and tropical gear. Inspired by the colorful animated Disney movie, students wore Hawaiian shirts and tan khaki shorts. Some students even went as far as wearing floral necklaces and sunscreen on their noses. From wearing stitch ears to grass skirts, students took advantage of the carefree relaxed “Aloha” vibe of Lilo and her family.
Tuesday was Twiddledum and Twiddledee day, more commonly known as twin day. Students and faculty dressed as look alikes to help bring originality from the classic Alice in the wonderland. Students did their best to wear everything alike. From the same shirt and hair style to even completely wearing the same wacky outfits.
Wednesday was Up day. Inspired by the movie Up, students had the choice of either dressing as a senior citizen or a wilderness explorer. As motivation to remember that “adventure’s out there”, some students paired up and brought the hilarious comedy duo to life.
Thursday was collage day inspired by the all too familiar movie Monster’s Inc. This Pixar favorite encouraged both students and faculty to wear their favorite college inspired propaganda.
Friday was Blaze Day; students were encouraged to wear blue and orange to showcase their Blackman pride. Blaze Day was hyped by the pep rally for the homecoming football game against Cookeville.
