Jennifer Waite grew up in California, and has a positive, chirpy attitude to match it. Her classroom is artsy and creative, and may as well have ‘Pintrest’ written all over it. You can tell crafting is one of her hobbies, along with swimming and reading.

Speaking of reading, Waite teaches English. She earned her bachelors degree from MTSU. While getting her teaching degree, she worked as a student teacher at Blackman. She ‘fell in love’ with it and decided she was going to be a teacher here one day. After teaching at Blackman middle for two years, Waite made her move across the street.

“I fell in love with (Blackman),” Waite. When asked what exactly she loved about Blackman, we fell in love with her response. “It puts academics first,” she stated.

Waite’s  favorite thing about Blackman’s faculty is that it looks at the student body as a whole, and treats them freedom and respect.
