New Teachers in the Know: Windy Willette

Windy Willette, teacher of 17 years, has recently joined the Backman Blaze family. Coming from East Tennessee, Willette has come to teach agriculture at Blackman High School.

She made her decision to come to Blackman after hearing great things about the school, FFA, and the community. Willette said that while she was making the transition over, our faculty and administration were very encouraging.

“The biggest dfference is definitely the size,” said Willette.

The previous school she taught at only had 422 students, whereas Blackman has an estimated population of 2,200.

Willette lives with her daughter Katie and her friend Pam. She graduated from UT Martin, and she was a member of the Department of Conservation.

In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking and singing with the community choir.

Her upbeat personality will be a great addition to the Blackman family.
