New Teachers in the Know: Coach Alex Trakas

Ohio State Alumni, football coach, and teacher here at Blackman, Alex Trakas has a lot to be proud of.

Alex Trakas coached Ravenwoods football team for five years, eventually bringing his team to the State Championship. Then, he left Ravenwood and coached at Oakland for a year.  Finally, Trakas found his place at Blackman, steering our very own Blackman Blaze football boys to their befitting State Championship.

As serious as Coach Trakas is about athletics, he understands the importance of academics as well. He teaches Integrated Math 1, and had a lot of positive things to say about Blackman.

“There is awesome administration!” Said Trakas when asked how his transition to Blackman was.

He also mentioned how grateful he was for the Blackman community being so supportive.

Not only did Trakas talk positively about Blackman’s faculty and staff, but also he says he loves his the students here seem to, “…buy into the process.”

Outside of coaching and teaching, Trakas likes playing with his two dogs, and enjoys spending time with his wife; They are expecting their first child this upcoming January. Coach Trakas has an exciting and eventful year coming up, and we are proud to have him here at Blackman.
