Ben and Jerry’s are a very popular brand within the ice cream business, and these are their best flavors chosen by Blackman staff and students. The number one spot was taken by the classic Cookies and Cream, voted on by four students: Freshman Blake Stanfield, Junior Austin George, and Sophomores Brandon Alston and James Stewart.
Second place is Cherry Garcia with a total of three votes. Cherry Garcia is very popular, specifically within this brand. The teachers who voted for this iconic flavor are Ms. McCully and Mr. Mosier.
Finally taking third place is the classic flavor, Vanilla! This was the default flavor most people would choose if they didn’t have their favorite in stores. Many students and teachers love this well know flavor including Freshman Lucy Allein, Assistant Principal Mr. Trakas, and Sophomore Za’kara Jaudon.
These weren’t the only flavors named, here are some of the runner ups: Mint Chocolate Chip with two votes. Then Strawberry Shortcake comes in next with three votes. All came in with close calls or ties with the top flavors.
Some honorable mentions are Rocky Road from Junior Jackson Whittmore, Coconut Almond from Assistant Principal Mr. Green, the classic chocolate from Sophomore Coen Moore and lastly cookie dough from Junior Allen Shugerman.
Through the questioning of the staff and students, we not only find out their favorite flavors but also bits and pieces of their personalities. People’s favorite things can tell you a little about who they are and what they enjoy when it comes to food as well.
