The time around the trade deadline in the NFL (National Football League) is one of the most exciting times in the season. Blockbuster deals to help teams in contention or deals to try to set up a better future for teams who are rebuilding. So, what significant deals were pulled off this season? Here’s an overview.

  • Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles added some depth to their already great defense when they traded safety Terell Edmunds, a fifth-round pick, and a sixth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans for all-pro safety Kevin Byard.

  • Randy Gregory to the San Fransisco 49ers

The Denver Broncos traded DE (defensive end) Randy Gregory and a seventh-round pick to the 49ers for a 2024 fifth round pick. Gregory has had a decent career as he is in his ninth season. He has a total of 110 tackles and 20 sacks as he hopes to help the 49ers as they try to contend for the super bowl.

  • Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks added some depth to their defensive line as they traded a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the New York Giants for DL Leonard Williams. Williams has been a key piece for the Giants the last couple of years and is a great pickup by the Seattle Seahawks.

  • Joshua Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings

The Cardinals traded Dobbs and a conditional seventh-round pick that can become a sixth rounder based on Dobbs’ play time in Minnesota to the Vikings for a sixth-round pick.

  • Mecole Hardman traded back to the Kansas City Chiefs

The New York Jets traded WR Mecole Hardman and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Chiefs for a 2025 seventh-round pick. Hardman spent his first four years in Kansas City before he signed a deal with the Jets. He was a member of the Legion of Zoom, and he won two super bowls with the Chiefs before signing with the Jets.

  • Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears

The Washington Commanders traded defensive end Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears for a 2024 second-round pick. This is a more interesting trade because the Bears are not a team contending for a championship. Their roster is not bad; they have just been fighting injuries and a bad coaching staff.

  • Donovan Peoples-Jones to the Detroit Lions

The Cleveland Browns traded wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (DPJ) to the Detroit Lions for a 2025 sixth-round pick. The Lions offense has great weapons including Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam La Porta but decided to add another weapon for Jared Goff as they will try to make a deep playoff run in January.

  • Chase Young to the San Fransisco 49ers

The 49ers added to their already stacked defense when they acquired former number-two overall pick Chase Young from the Washington Commanders for a 2024 third-round pick. Young has battled injuries his whole career, but when he is healthy, he has shown that he can be a franchise pass rusher. He will be paired up with one of the best pass rushers, Nick Bosa, who should help Young and his pass rushing ability.

  • Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills

The Green Bay Packers traded cornerback Rasul Douglas and a fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2024 third-round pick. Rasul Douglas solidified himself as a solid player in his time at Green Bay, but the packers traded him to try to help them when they are contenders. The Bills are adding to their already solid defensive back core and are excited to see what Douglas can do.

These are the biggest moves of the trade deadline, and hopefully the NFL community is excited to see these players perform on their new team.
