We all love going to get our nails done but there are ways we can get the same desired look without having to spend 40 + dollars.
Step 1: First you must grow out your nails so that they get to the desired length for styling. They also cannot be brittle. Our nails can grow and gain strength when we consume Biotin (vitamin B7) which is crucial to nail health as it helps form keratin, the main protein that makes up our nails (and hair!!) We can find this vitamin in eggs, nuts, salmon, avocados, and dark leafy greens. Some more foods to eat can include:
- Sweet potatoes
- Water
- Strawberries
- Whole grain bread
- Carrots
- Pineapples
- Nuts
- Green beans
- Blueberries
- salmon
Step 2: Once we’ve got our nails healthy and not constantly breaking, we can buy the equipment we need for styling. At the most- this will cost $30, which is usually cheaper than an individual session at the salon. These items include:
- LED- polish drying light: these can be found on Shein, amazon, and Temu. This allows nails to dry quickly and for the polish to last longer without chipping.
- A set of gel nail polish- these can also be found in the same places (listed above). Any nail polish will work well with the LED light. However, gel nail polish must be taken off by soaking in water, so baths aren’t your best bet with gel nail polish. It is VITAL that you purchase a base polish and a topcoat polish, though most polish sets include these.
- If you really want to get fancy, you can buy a drill set, which is also cheap. These will allow you to shape nails and take off old polish quickly when re-styling. Beware of drilling down into the nail too harshly because it will cause your natural nail to be very thin and break easily. You can get by with just a normal nail file and a tool to trim your cuticles, but this tool is very efficient.
