Five shows to binge watch
Right now, teachers are assigning homework left and right, and projects are already due soon. School can be too stressful at times, so here are five shows to binge watch when you need to take a break.
A new addition to Netflix, Lost In Space follows the Robinson family’s journey to a new space colony. Unfortunately, their ship gets thrown off course, so they land in an alien environment. Rated 74% on Rotton Tomatoes, this show is perfect if you enjoy science fiction shows.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, Sherlock is a modern take on the Sherlock Holmes series written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. With four seasons and 13 episodes, this mystery series is shorter than most. Although it’s short, each episode is action-packed with murder, crime, and relationships.
For someone looking for a comedy series, The Office is a popular favorite of many students. This series has nine seasons and a rating of 88% on Rotton Tomatoes. It follows the lives of several office employees at Dunder-Mifflin in an extremely comedic way.
For those who enjoy watching horror after a long day at school, The Haunting of Hill House is a perfect way to end the day. This story follows siblings who grew up in a famous haunted house. Once they’ve grown older and left, they find themselves again dealing with the multiple ghosts that followed them from Hill House.
A personal new favourite show of mine is The Witcher. Based on a series written by Andrzej Sapkowski, this show’s main character, Geralt, is a monster hunter who finds humans that resemble monsters more than the ones he hunts. The Witcher also has multiple strong female characters and extreme character development for all of them. For someone who enjoys fantasy, this is the show for them.
Hopefully you’ve had a break from working and are ready to start your homework.
