In the 2018 Blackman Blaze Baseball season, the Blaze had a record of 17-15 and finished third in the regular season.

“The record does not reflect the improvements that this team made this year,” stated head coach Barry Vetter.

Vetter also said that the season was good because they were so young and were playing four sophomores most of the games.

The 7AAA All district Award went to senior Mateo Lozano (Co-Pitcher of the year). Lozano and teammates Andrew Coulter, junior; David Milam, sophomores; Conner Murphy, and Andru Becker were all selected to the All-District team.

“Going to games with focus and momentum from past games and also underestimating opposing teams,” stated junior Tyler Battle, a three-year veteran pitcher.

Battle mentioned that big crowds coming out to support the team was a huge motive to get them going.
