PRETTYMUCH Band Review

PRETTYMUCH Band Review

One of the most memorable things about music are the artists. They make or break the song. Without them, the music would not have a story.

Some of the most influential artists have been those in boy bands. However, the definition of “boy band” has changed in the past 10 years.

The Beetles, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Boys ll Men have paved the way for the modern-day boy band. A select few of teen boys are continuing this epic legacy with blended harmonies and brotherly love.

Among these is PRETTYMUCH, an a-cappella, dancing, and content creating group of boys from around the USA and Canada with a natural talent for entertaining.

Origins

The boys were discovered by Simon Cowell in 2016. Prior to discovery, all of the boys were pursuing solo careers in music, dance, and producing.

“They just wanted to put together something that was more like, from the ground up,” Honoret commented in an interview with Zach Sang earlier in the group’s career.

The group spent one year getting to know each other and creating a sound before they put out any music. They became best friends and moved into a house together, equipped with a small recording studio.

The Music

Their first single “Would You Mind” was released in July of 2017. The song was heavily influenced by 90s R&B with a catchy chorus and upbeat tempo.

Their next single titled “Teacher” was released in the beginning of October 2017. The new school dance track filled with beat drops and catchy melodies captured the attention of teen girls around the world.

Their latest single, “Open Arms”, was released in late October of 2017. The a-cappella track showcases their individual voices and smashes any questions about their musical abilities and vocal talents.

The Fans

In order to have a successful career you need support. That’s what the BEANZ are for the boys of PRETTYMUCH. The term BEANZ stands for the first letters of each of the members’ names. From buying singles at midnight to trending the newest song on Twitter, the BEANZ go hard for the flourishing boyband.

“I just love Austin Porter, he’s such a great dancer and he’s so cute!” commented tenth grader, Marleigh Fountain.

BHS is not short of PRETTYMUCH fans. “My favorite is probably Zion. I like them because the vocals are always on point, ” said Joslyn Banks, Sophomore.

Up and coming band PRETTYMUCH is one to look out for, so keep an eye out.
