The Biggest Game of the Season
Oakland Comes to Blackman
September 22, 2017
On Friday Night, September 22nd, the Blackman Blaze take on The Oakland Patriots. This is the biggest game of the season, as both teams have a record of 5-0.
Last week, the Blaze beat the Siegel Stars 35-3, and the Patriots beat Republic, 70-6. In 2014 the Blaze won the game 28-21, then the Patriots won all the rivalry games from 2014 playoff game until 2016.
Since the 2016 season, the Patriots lost 22 seniors, and the Blaze lost 26 seniors.
Players to watch out for
Blackman: RB Master Teague (559 yards rushing, 9 TDs in 3 1/2 games); RB Cordell Braxton (337 yards rushing, 4 TDs); QB Connor Mitchell (46-of-62, 670 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INTs); 295 yards rushing, 9 TDs); WR Trey Knox (22 receptions, 353 yards, 4 TDs)
Oakland: RB Jeron Rooks (478 yards rushing, 274 yards receiving, 8 total TDs); QBs Timmy Goodrich/Brevin Linnell (467 combined passing yards, 6 TDs; 275 combined rushing yards, 3 TDs)
Predictions for the score vary in different ways, but perhaps the Blackman Blaze will “burn” the Patriots’ winning streak.
