Blackman’s Swim Team Success
Blackman High School’s swim team is something Blackman can be proud of. The Blackman High School swimmers finished their season of competition, but they aren’t quite done swimming for the year.
The boys team went 4-1 and were Division 5 runner-ups. The girls ended the regular season 2-3. Combined, the swim team placed third in Division 5.
Saturday, January 21st, all Rutherford County teams competed in the Championship Swim Meet. The boys came out 5th place in the county. Combined, Blackman’s team came out 6th place overall.
Individually, we had a few of our swimmers ranked high on the boards and receive medals for their hard work.
Jackson Giles, junior, left with third place in the 50 Freestyle.
Timmy Gardner, junior, placed third in the 200 Individual Medley.
Noah Boyd, freshman, finished in second place for the 100 Backstroke. He was .08 seconds away from first place in the whole county.
Giles, Gardner, Boyd, and Max Allen, senior, won third place in the Boys 200 Freestyle Relay.
