Blazecreek Hockey

Players Kevin Mackie, Senior, Tucker Darden, Senior, and Jeffery Staton, Sophomore, stand proud after defending and blocking a shot from Ravenwood players.
In 2004 six Blackman athletes joined together to make a team conjoined with athletes from Overton High School. Since then, the Blackman team has left Overto
n and combined with the newly built Stewarts Creek High School team to compete against other high schools in the area as a part of the Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey (GNASH).
The team has been notorious for filling the bleachers very fast. T
he high status of the team didn’t come easy or fast. In 2004, when the team began, the stands were mainly filled with the players’ parents and a few friends. Over the years, more and more students
around Blackman and Stewarts Creek became aware that there is even a hockey team at their schools.
The season started out with the team with a shut out from Centennial, starting the season off with a downward trend. Although they are not finished with the season, the trend is steadily moving upward.

Individual players’ stats are also excelling. Top players include Colton Tincher, a senior at Blackman, with two goals and four assists; Jackson Taylor, a sophomore at Stewarts Creek; and Evan Myers, a sophomore at Stewarts Creek, with two goals and zero assists.
The one player that stands above them all is Tanner Viola, a senior at Stewarts Creek, with nine goals and one assist.
