Stay-cation

Are you traveling across Tennessee or across the country. But some unlucky souls are staying right here in Murfreesboro. These poor students are probably planning on sleeping, eating, and watching Netflix.

Although this sounds perfectly entertaining for a weekend, maybe an entire week could be better spent.

Here are a few ideas to keep you busy and out of trouble.

  • Rearrange your bedroom: move stuff around and change the scenery a little! Paint a wall, decorate your window for fall, change your photos or make a new photo collage.
  • Try to cook something new: be a chef and eat like royalty, all the while in your pajamas and a tiara or top hat.
  • Call grandma: she’s waiting by the phone, I promise. If she lives close, make a lunch date with her.
  • Pick out new outfit combinations in your own closet or trade with friends: mix it up some to make your own style!
  • Online shopping: hunt for new clothes, posters, shoes and accessories. Shop sites that carry “gently used” items to save money.
  • Watch YouTube tutorials: youtube videos by 10 year old self-declared prodigies are sure to keep you entertained. You could even make your own with your kid sister!
  • Search for pumpkin spice recipes: have a pumpkin spice party to celebrate fall and friends!

These are just a few ideas to avoid boredom at home over fall break. Keep yourself entertained. Add other school appropriate ideas to our Twitter!
