Batman vs. Superman on the Big Screen
Three weeks ago, DC released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a preview (in many ways) of an upcoming Justice League movie reboot. B v S drew mixed reviews from fans and critics. Many DC comic fans were displeased with the movie, saying that it deviated too much from the original comics.
Overall, the movie broke records, surpassing Iron Man 2 in sales and making $830 million worldwide.
Here are some pros and cons of the most recent superhero flick:
Pros: Jared
- Jesse Eisenberg was phenomenal as Lex Luthor, Jr.
- Superman wasn’t invincible and had worthy foes.
- Ben Affleck did a surprisingly good job as Batman.
- Justice League heroes were subtly mentioned.
- The movie had plenty of action yet also allowed for character development for future characters.
Cons: Naffie
- The movie was 2 hours and 40 minutes (way too long).
- It felt predictable and obvious.
- The entire movie was sad and depressing.
- People still can’t tell that Clark Kent is Superman. It’s infuriating!
- The fight scenes became monotonous after a while; nothing dynamic happened that warranted the length of the scenes.
Although we had different opinions, we both enjoyed watching Batman and Superman on the big screen.
Naffie: 5/10
Jared: 7/10
