Things to Leave in 2015
The New Year has begun, and our generation is one year closer to gaining its independence from our humiliating parents. It is our duty to decide what path our generation chooses and declare our freedom from a diverse group of inadequate social media trends. By choosing to leave these useless trends listed below in 2015, we will develop into one of the greatest generations to ever live.
Hoverboards: Hoverboards are a novelty that will end up either in the garage or under your bed collecting dust after a few weeks.
Pepe the Frog: This iconic web meme is considered overhyped to the point that an average twitter user cannot scroll through Twitter without seeing it. Hopefully the overexposure to this overused meme will become overbearing, and it will eventually fade away.
Minions: Somehow, these fast-talking, one-eyed, yellow creatures are taking over the world. You cannot look away without them catching your sight. We must save ourselves from minions before it is too late.
“The Dress”: If you don’t understand what I am referring to, let’s keep it that way. If you do get the reference, please try to convert your vision to black and white so there are no disagreements about the colors of the dress in 2015.
Man Buns: This hairstyle is the “hot” look for this generation. When I look at a guy who has a man bun, I imagine him wanting to be a hipster who tucks his strands of hair behind his ear while thinking about the deeper meaning of poetry.
The idea that Donald Trump could ever be President: Self-explanatory.
Relatable Teenage Twitter accounts: These accounts are extremely repetitive and cause many people to gauge their eyes out. These accounts also break the BHS Honor Code, which is unacceptable, and therefore should be left in 2015.
Emoji clothes: Emoji clothes are excruciatingly painful to glance at. They are also overpriced. Emojis should stay on phones and should stay away from every clothing store.
